The Tigers first district game against Hart has been canceled. The Tigers have their first official district game next week against Silverton on Friday, October 30th here at 7:30 pm.

District kick off and the pick out game here Friday against Hart at 7:30. We would love to see you.

Lights Camera Action: The  One Act Play cast and crew continue to prepare for  1A-District 2 UIL OAP Contest. Groom will be performing on Thursday, March 9. The estimated time for Groom High School to perform is at 12:20 p.m., but be sure to arrive early.  If you want to see all of the plays, arrive at the White Deer High School auditorium before 11:30 a.m. Groom will be the second play. Sound transitions, adds mood and effect, OAP sound technician Garet Rocha said. And. when properly done - blended, faded and eqed - it can really add effect to any scene.

Groom OAP will be performing at district contest on Thursday, March 9. The estimated time for Groom High School to perform is at 12:20 p.m., but be sure to arrive early. We have only two official start times…  Hedley HS at 11:30am, and Lefors HS at 2:15pm.  All other times are estimates, District Contest Manager Billy Boone said in an email to each school. Please make sure that the rolling schedule is communicated to all parties involved.

District play ends tonight for both varsity teams. Tonight, Feb. 10, the Tigers will play Lefors at 5:30, there, and the Tigerettes will play the Shamrock Lady Irish, at 7, in McLean. Tonight will be the Tigers last game of the season, and the Tigerettes will be playing for a chance in playoffs. Im both nervous and excited for tonight, senior Caroline Britten said. Its gonna be a very big game for us.

Junior Lauren Kuehler plays hands-up defense against the Hedley Owls on Friday, Jan. 13. Both Groom teams put up the winning points on the home-town scoreboard for these district matches. The varsity girls won 45-20. The boys won 60-30.

Freshman photographer Chandra Rice catches a photo of a made basket by the Tigers during their game on Tuesday, Jan. 10 against Shamrock. The Tigerettes will play Hedley tonight, Jan. 13 at 5, followed by the Tigers at 6:30.  Its a good bounce back game for us, senior Jeff Marshall said. And it should be a good tone setter for the rest of district. In addition to the time changes for today, the junior high tournament that was scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 14, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4.

The Ettes warm up by running laps around the Lefors gym. The varsity girls traveled to play their district opener, winning 52-14. The game started off rough, but we came back much better in the second half, head coach Nicole Black said. Ultimately, we started off district with a win, which is what we needed.
