Sophomore Zander Mays is a student at Groom ISD. He participates in FFA and One Act Play. He loves to watch "That 70's Show", walking around with friends, and go on runs in his free time. He loves to listen to music especially TWENTY ØNE PILØTS. He is an active member in his church and youth group at the First Baptist Church of Groom.. He also take photos and writes articles  for GroomTigerTimes.com

The Groom school auditorium is under construction. Principal Stephen Vanderpool said, If they stay on schedule its anticipated to be done by December, realistically Im thinking January or February.

With gloved hands, seventh-graders Colby Linquest and Sam Short dissect chicken wings in science class on April 27, 2017. According to teacher Kamy Whatley, the students were looking for ligaments and tendons, and were seeing how muscles work. I hated it, Short said. I hate dissecting animals.

Santa hides somewhere in the midst of these eighth-grade guys, who have been working on a broadcast project in their journalism class. Zander Mays, front left, holds the camera for this group selfie shot, taken after the guys had finished shooting their interviews and B-roll. You can find all of these eighth-graders surrounding their guest star, including one who is playing that star (aka Santa): Braedon Williams, Braxton Johnson, Santa Claus (aka Samuel Ybarra), Tanis Terbush, Tre Byers, Gunner Lamb, Shawn Meaker and Chance Wheeler. Students gather to vote in FFA Officers and participate in a pumpkin carving contest on Thursday, Oct. 20. The group elected these officers: Mason Miller, president; Halle Barkley, Vice President; Katelyn Burger, Secretary; Cayden Lambert, Treasurer; Lauren Fields, Reporter; Halle Thompson, Sentinel; Morgan Trevino, Parliamentarian; Kaylee Ritter, Student Adviser. It was fun to showcase my speech to my peers, freshman Katelyn Burger said, And as for the pumpkin carving, it was a mess!
