Totally Uncalled For is an extra credit opportunity for Coach Blacks English classes. Students can write anything from book reviews, to three sentence poems. Totally Uncalled For is completely optional, but encouraged for extra credit. It is seen as a good way for students to share their work with their friends and get some extra credit points for their grades. The Totally Uncalled For board is used by many students, including myself. I think it gives us a chance to see a different creative side of each student that adds something on the board. said Sophomore Kirsten Rice.

Saving Juliet by Suzanne Selfors is a book that changes the plot of Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet where they both die tragic deaths, but instead they never meet and Benvolio’s the one falling in love with a Capulet; all because of a Shakespearean Charm that brought Mimi to Verona. The changes made to this lovely but tragic play made me want to rewrite one of Shakespeares play myself. said Rice.

Life is full of risks and choices that determine our future. Make the wrong one and you could face severe consequences. Taylor goes through that journey in the book Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally. I like this book a lot, said Sophomore Kirsten Rice. It is at a mature Audience level but I recommend it to anyone wanting to try a new author.

Everyone is broken in some way. It’s what makes us human. Vivi and Jonah are no exception. They are both broken, yet they are in love—they are colliding planets, specks of sand on this place we call Earth.
This book brought several vivid images to my head said Rice

Jersey Cameron always loved a storm. When a devastating tornado hit her town. She lost everything during that tornado. Jersey moved in with family that was strangers. In an unfamiliar place, can Jersey discover that even on the darkest days, there are some things no tornado can destroy? This book gave me chills several times, this book brought emotions I didnt know I could get with a book by just reading. said Rice
