Groom Cubs Defeat Fort Elliott Cougars

Tre Byers Leads the Cubs to Victory, 20-13

Thursday evening, the Cubs traveled to Fort Elliott for their first football game of the season. The Cubs came out victorious, 20-13.

Seventh-grader Tre’ Byers played guard and middle linebacker. He helped create key plays for the Cubs.

“I like the fact the every player on the team was doing their part and that there was good defense and good runs,” Byers said. “Also a shout-out to Cade Linquist and Whitt Ward for the outstanding job.”

The next game will be at Follett on Sept. 24 at 5 p.m.
