“True Tiger” Student of the Week Gwyn Britten (Third grade)-November 8th

Congratulations to third grader Gwyn Britten for being this week’s “True Tiger” student of the week. Gwyn has shown the true character of a Tiger by exhibiting kindness, grit, initiative, and hustle. Gwyn will be honored during the morning announcements, and she will receive a DQ Blizzard.

“It’s just a good class.” Second and third grade teacher Sarah Nichols said when asked about the third grade class. Although, one student stood out to her, “Gywn is very determined to do her best, and she is a great friend to her classmates,” Mrs. Nichols said.  “Her math skills have soared this year.”

We asked Gywn some questions about the things she liked in school. “I like writing,” she says, but surprisingly language arts wasn’t her favorite subject. Gywn explained that math was her favorite subject because, “sometimes she times us.”. Qwyn also told us about a book called “Mercy Watson”.  “It’s about a pig that gets in a lot of trouble,” she said with a laugh.

Prinicpal Stephen Vanderpool and the faculty want to honor outstanding students at Groom ISD.  If you would like to nominate a commendable student, please e-mail senior Hallie Thompson at [email protected]
