On Friday, September 20th, the Groom Tigers faced off against the Weatherford Christian Lions for the homecoming game. After a grinding, four quarter battle, the Tigers were victorious with a final score of 65-48.  “We were a little nervous at first, but the game went better than we thought,” said senior Cade Linquist (7).

The Lions ended the game with 48 total points, gaining most of those in the second and third quarter.  The Tigers are now ranked number three in the UIL Division II . “It feels good to be ranked third,” said senior Whitt Ward (30).  “But we need to be ready for Valley this week.”

The Groom Tigers will face off  against the Valley Patriots this Friday, September 27th at 7:30 pm at Tiger Field.  “We need to stay focused this week for Valley,” said senior Tyler Cox (8).  “Tackling and coverage will be two of our main priorities.”
