As Homecoming gets closer, the Tigers keep chipping away at a winning record.  After being picked to lose against Nazareth, the Tigers won 82-42.  This score moved them up to the number seven spot in the UIL Division II rankings. “It’s good to be ranked in the Top 10,” junior wide receiver Tyler Boyd said. “But we can’t let it get us overconfident.”  The game this Friday is shaping up to be a bigger challenge than last week.  The Groom Tigers will take on a new formidable opponent homecoming night, the Weatherford Christian Lions.  “I definitely think that the game will go all four quarters, ” Boyd said.

The Homecoming King and Queen coronation will take place on the football field at 6pm.  “I’m excited to see the Tigers win tonight,” said Homecoming Queen candidate Graci Treadwell.  “This is my first time to sit with the Homecoming Court, I look forward to it, I just hope it doesn’t rain,” Treadwell said.

There will be a homecoming pep rally this afternoon on campus, and the bonfire will take place after the game tonight.  When asked for predictions about the homecoming game, Principal Stephen Vanderpool said only one word, “Victory”.
