The film Slender Man ( PG-13) entered theaters August 10, 2018, NOW SHOWING

The fictional film Slender Man (PG-13) is based off of the famous “Creepypasta” Internet meme created by Eric Knudsen in 2009 (also known as “Victor Surge”). Slender Man is depicted as a thin, naturally human like figure with a faceless white face and wears a black suit. In his stories, he commonly stalks and either abducts or traumatizes people – usually children.

In the movie four friends, Wren, Hallie, Chloe and Katie summon the Slender Man. Two weeks later, Katie mysteriously disappears during a class trip to a historic graveyard. Determined to find her, the girls soon suspect that the legend of the Slender Man may be too real.

The movie did get a  7% Rotten Tomatoes and 3/10 IMDb, but I don’t necessarily agree with the critics. This movie is geared towards the more mature younger audience and the critics are often adults. Coming from a 15 year old who has followed all of the stories and theories, personally  I loved it. This movie isn’t all that scary, but if you are a person who doesn’t like really scary movies, this one’s for you. It’s the perfect mix of suspense with just a pinch of jump scares to keep it interesting.
