Loren Brand sends out his monthly press release from the Carson County Sheriff Office. "I am very thankful for the Carson County Sheriff Department and everything they do for us in keeping us safe." Junior Kaylie Ritter said.

As of August 20, 2018, the Carson County 9-1-1/Dispatch received 98 calls of service. Traffic accidents were the most called in with 12 phone calls. The rest of the calls included three domestic violence, five fire calls, two jail incidents, eight EMS calls, two mental health reports, three suspicious person calls, three traffic complaints, three thefts, two threat reports and three suspicious person calls.  54 defendants were booked this month and we currently have 16 persons in jail.

Joseph Johnson a CCSO fugitive was arrested in Laredo, Texas on Friday, August 17. Johnson failed to appear at his jury trial. He was scheduled for trial on Sexual Assault of a Child case. He will return back to Carson County after dealing with any charges he has in Laredo for assault on his police officer.
