At end of the game, the ‘Ettes were down 10 points. The score was 46-36, but the Groom crowd still shouted encouragement to the team.

“Although I’m sad to see it end, this year has been great for us,” senior Chelsey Lamb said.  “I think we have set the bar high for years to come.”

With the help of starter Sydney Ritter’s 19 points, the ‘Ettes stayed close enough to threaten Happy throughout the game, but Ritter fouled out in the fourth quarter. The Cowgirls’ lead scorer, Madison Stockett, put in 23, while logging only two fouls. Other Groom scorers included junior K’Leigh Keesee, who contributed nine; senior Jamey Germany scored two points, and sophomore Ginna Miller, junior Madison Friemel and freshman Aubrey Ritter all each added two points each, as well.

“The Ettes have worked endlessly to have the stellar season they did,” Coach Nicole Black said.
