Sixth-grader Ali Friemel cuddles her new friend, which took up its own spot as a stow-away in her unzipped backpack before she left home. This morning, April 12, Friemel thought she heard something in her bag while traveling to school on the route bus. After unzipping her bag, she found a baby bunny in her bag. When asked where the bunny came from sixth-grade teacher Jennifer Carter responded, “We don’t know. She unzipped her bag and found it. I told her she could keep it in my classroom.” Ag teacher Kamy Whatley had an extra, unused small-animal enclosure to house the new class pet.
