Nylee Blart Mimany passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father Jan. 25, 2017. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Groom High School in Groom, Texas, with Coach Nicole Black “officiating.” Burial will be at the Groom cross country course by the large cross outside of town.

Nylee Blart Mimany, a hermit crab, was born and adopted in Lubbock, Texas, to Jamey Germany and Ginna Miller, two friends who wanted a pet to have as a memory from their adventure. The family came back to Groom in 2016 after the regional cross country meet, and “Blart” was decided to be named after Jamey and Ginna’s coaches, Nicole Black and Kylee Armenta. He then followed in Black and Armenta’s footsteps by becoming a coach, often going by Coach Blart.
He lived at Groom High School in Coach Black’s classroom until he was so suddenly ripped from our lives. Blart was a lifelong friend and coach and loved each and every person he met. He was a long-standing member of the GHS girls’ sports teams where he served as the team pet and mascot.
He loved crawling around Coach Black’s room, climbing and burrowing in his favorite corner. In addition, he brought joy to the classes who saw him, and, more than anything, he loved being able to spend each and every day with his favorite adult, Coach Black, whom he looked up to. He adored his friends and family and enjoyed attending their many activities. Blart was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Blart was preceded in death by his many other crab friends that have gone on to that beautiful hermit home in the sky.
Blart is survived by his parents and Tigerette teammates.
RIP Coach Nylee Blart Mimany. You will never be forgotten and will forever live in our hearts.
