Jan. 22, the Tigers and ‘Ettes battled on their home court against the Lefors Pirates. The girls came home with a victory, 28-19. The boys lost another close game, 48-55.

The girls played their fifth district game against the Lady Pirates. The ‘Ettes got their second win of district behind freshman high-point Sydney Ritter. Ritter scored 10 points for the ‘Ettes.  Another freshman, K’Leigh Keesee, scored nine points in the win.

“The girls took a tough situation and made the best of it,” assistant coach Stephen Vanderpool said.

The Tigers had another tough loss to this district opponent. The Tigers started off slow, and they were down by 18 in the third quarter. They climbed their way back to only lose by seven points. Senior Nate Roskens led the attack for the Tigers with 22 points. Junior Carson Ritter scored 16 in the loss.

The teams have another home game tomorrow night at 6:30 against the Silverton Owls. This will be the ‘Ettes first game in the second round of district play. The boys will be finishing up the first round.
